ABOUT US

Merriam-Webster defines a doula as, "A person trained to provide advice, information, emotional support, and physical comfort to a mother before, during, and just after childbirth."

"Research shows that childbirth does go more smoothly with a doula: labor is 25 percent shorter, the need for epidural pain relief is 60 percent less and the Caesarean section rate is reduced by half."

 —Susan Gilbert

As A DONA certified birth doula, it has been Alaine's earnest devotion to making sure there is a doula for every woman who wants one. While completing her certification, Alaine made it her duty to educate the community on the importance of birth and postpartum doula. She didn't stop there; the team set out to bring awareness to maternal mental health by attending the 2nd annual March for Moms 2018 in D.C. The team also hosts a Postpartum Support International (PSI) awareness day and supports the local Climb Out of Darkness event. Alaine is also a certified  Dancing For Birth Instructor, teaching the importance of movement and childbirth education in preparation for labor and birth.
